Who we are

Le Tambour Cassé is a cosy bar and café located in the beautiful commune of Darnac in rural France. The bar opened in July 2015 following extensive repair work and is a success with holidaymakers and locals alike.

The name of the bar was inspired by a book by Terry Pratchett, one of the owners of the favorite authors. In Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, Ankh Morpork's bar was originally called the Broken Drum, which in French translation Le Tambour Cassé.

In addition to a wide selection of beverages, Le Tambour Cassé also offers a variety of meals ranging from a light snack to a full meal. However, if you are just a little peckish you can always stop for a piece of homemade cake and a coffee.

Once a month, we have specialty cooking evenings, such as Italian, Mexican, English, to name a few. Book through the events page, but be sure to book early to avoid disappointment.

You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with everything that's going on at the bar.
